ICT question is a national project based on a cooperation agreement between SIAT and the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency.
The ICT question is a system for continuous and systematic collection of information from persons with disabilities about their experience and requests regarding information and communication technology, telecommunication and media, as well as their views and proposals related to this field.
The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS), has commissioned the Swedish Institute of Assistive Technology (SIAT), to carry out the work.
Web surveys with accessible questionnaires are sent out twice a year, together with other forms of dialogue for those who cannot access the Internet. Persons interested in taking part in the web surveys register in beforehand.
The questions in the web surveys come from SIAT and the partners in the project. These can vary depending on the current theme subject. Examples of question areas are:
- eServices
- social Internet media
- talking books
- how to shop on Internet
- how to pay on Internet
Following the survey are reports and articles within relevant areas. Reports are being distributed to decision makers and companies developing products within the ICT field for future improvements.
The web surveys have been developed with the aim that user groups can use different interfaces, i.e. sign language, picture symbols like Pictogram etc.
At present the following user groups are addressed:
- People with hearing disabilities
- People with speech disorders
- People with visual disabilities
- People with cognitive disabilities
- People with light intellectual disabilities
