Jan Grönlund succeeds Carl Leczinsky who recently retired as the Director of the Swedish Institute of Assistive Technology, SIAT.
Jan Grönlund comes from AFA Insurance, where he was Executive Vice President - Head of Insurance. Jan Grönlund has worked many years in the Government Offices, as State Secretary at the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications, and as Political Advisor at the Prime Minister’s Office and at the Ministry of Employment. He has also worked as management consultant and as the director of the County Council of Jämtland.
As a member of the Committee of Disability Organisations within the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs Jan Grönlund gained a good insight into issues concerning persons with disabilities. The Committee is an important forum for discussions and mutual information between the Government and the disability organisations in Sweden.
SIAT works for full participation and equality for persons with disabilities by ensuring access to high-quality and secure assistive technology, an effective provision of assistive devices and an accessible environment.
Jan Grönlund is looking forward to working with these issues and to contributing to an improvement in the daily lives of people with disabilities.
