Testing of disposable products

The Swedish Institute of Assistive Technology (SIAT) offers testing of

  • Incontinence products
  • Ostomy products
  • Medical gloves

Test results can be used for procurement, marketing and product development.

The SIAT laboratory is accredited according to EN 17025 and belongs to a small European network of independent test laboratories.

Test results accepted in the EU

Results from accredited testing are formally valid in the European Union (EU) which means that you don’t have to repeat testing in each country you offer products within the European procurement system.

SIAT can assist you in identifying test methods that are required for your product and purpose.
Competence and equipment
At SIAT, we have the competence and equipment to

  • measure absorption properties measure properties such as strength, leakage and adhesion
  • measure permeability using GC and GCMS
  • carry out sensory analysis

New and established methods

At SIAT we carry out tests according to ISO/EN standards and EDANA test methods. SIAT can adapt tests and develop customer-specific methods when needed.

  • Sensory evaluation of ostomy and incontinence products.
